Self-care Principles and Practices in Traditional Oriental Medicine: Improving Sleep, Relieving Tension and Headaches

Do you have difficulty sleeping or suffer from tension and headaches? You are not alone. According to the CDC, 35% of Americans get less than the recommended 7 hours of sleep per night which is linked with many chronic diseases and conditions such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, obesity, and depression. According to the NIH, tension headaches are the most common form of headache and may be related to stress, depression, or anxiety.

During this 2-session class, we will explore the Traditional Oriental Medicine view on the root cause of these very common yet debilitating symptoms of our modern society. You will learn easy-to-apply acupressure and qigong techniques to help relieve those symptoms, while working on restoring the inner balance of your physical, mental, and emotional body.

You will be able to immediately put these easy self-care techniques to work in your own life, helping you feel more empowered, nourished, and healthy.

Instructor: Luca Moschini, Dipl. ABT (Asian Bodywork Therapy), is the founder and head instructor of Dashen® Foundation of acupressure and qigong training. He has a private practice in Mountain View, CA, and is a former faculty member of Five Branches University of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Jose.
